The Nonsense Factory
The Nonsense Factory aims to create the first general purpose robotics policy by doing the largest scale real-world reinforcement learning training run that has ever been attempted.
We would like for robotics to be a tool that empowers individuals and amplifies the agency we can exert over the environment around us.
We also believe that the greatest way to do good in the world is to create the institutions that stand to exert the greatest influence over the future, and to guide those institutions towards good.
Roles
If working on one of the most important technologies of our lifetimes is exciting to you, we would love for you to reach out at hiring@nonsense.inc! We are hiring for a number of roles across hardware, software, and research:
- Hardware: mechanical engineering, testing and reliability, supply chain, manufacturing, firmware and motor control
- Physical infrastructure and operations
- Machine learning: research scientists, research engineers, performance optimization, dataset creation

- Alex Gajewski — previously one of the founders of SF Compute and Exa AI, and helped organize the first batch of AI Grant. Before that, worked with Ken Stanley and Joel Lehman on evolutionary RL.
- Kelsey Pool — previously led the hardware design for a small, modular, low-cost humanoid which became a KScale product, worked on robotics engineering for life-sciences automation at Multiply Labs, and ran a hardware initiative for safer streets in cities.
